Raw, Real, and Unapologetically Truthful
Llewellyn Jones
Deaf & Gay | Storyteller | Advocate
Gold Coast, Queensland
Llewellyn Jones is a bold and unapologetic Deaf Queer storyteller who brings raw truth and deep emotion to the stage through the art of improv storytelling. Originally from the Gold Coast, Llewellyn uses his voice—through visual language and presence—to challenge perceptions, ignite conversations, and centre the lived experiences of the Deaf and LGBTQ+ communities.
Having grown up navigating the intersection of Deaf and Queer identities, Llewellyn brings a wealth of insight and emotion to his performances. For him, storytelling isn’t just about words—it’s a visual, emotional, and transformative experience. Through improvisation, he creates spontaneous and deeply personal narratives shaped by moments of joy, struggle, resilience, and triumph.
This is Llewellyn’s first festival performance, and while stepping onto the stage for the first time comes with nerves, it also fuels his purpose. He embraces truth head-on, using the stage as a platform to speak honestly about identity, survival, and the beauty of being fully yourself.
Llewellyn is inspired by international Deaf storytellers who have paved the way for authentic representation, and now, it’s his time to step forward and add his voice to the movement. His goal? To leave audiences moved, empowered, and thinking long after the final story is told. Because for Llewellyn, stories are not just performances—they are calls to action.
“Stories hold the power to break barriers and open hearts. I’m here to tell mine – raw, real, and without limits.”
Catch Llewellyn Jones at the Deaf Queer Festival and experience storytelling that dares to be real, emotional, and profoundly human.
